The season is off to a great start! Been doing trips for a couple weeks with first Striper of the season at 39lb’s. The next few trips produced fish from small schoolie sized fish casting topwater lures and fish in the 40lb range with live bait. We always start out charters off catching our own bait such as mackerel using a sabiki rig which has six hooks so, you can actualy catch 6 at a time when we run into big schools which is really fun for the kids, and folks from Arkensas!!! We had a family from Arkensas a few years ago that when we were out catching Mackerel 6 at a time, thought thats what we were doing for the day and, would have been happy with that because “their bigger than the Brookies we catch back home” when i told them that was our bait for the Striped Bass they didn’t believe it. Y ou can imagine the looks on their faces when we got to our first spot and within 10 min of the first troll hooked up with a 26lb Bass!! Needless to say, they have since made the trek back to Boston every year.
We did have a slow couple days around the full moon and had to work to catch our limits, bud were able to find fish. Since last thurs our trips have produced alot of fish in deep water from 32” class to 47” trolling live Mackerel with conventional gear. So, whether you book your next adventure with us or with someone else just get out there! We still have a couple dates available this month and and some in Jul.
